My personal opinion on firearms goes back to the old saying of, "guns don't kill people, people kill people." No matter how strict gun laws are, there will also be those people that will have them or try to get them because that is who they are. Certain drugs are illegal, but we see it being transported across the border everyday. So my point is that no matter what the law is, there will also be some select few that will disobey the law.
