  1. This article is very insightful. It is apparent that the Sandy Hook Tragedy has impaired the capabilities of many CT Gun producers. What is your opinion on CT's ban on assault weapons?

  2. i think it is important to strict the rules of guns and control the amount of weapons sold each year. Having tragedies like sandy hook is important to prevent in the future.

  3. Gun control in general is stupid. No matter what the government does there will be guns forever in the world. I do not care if there is a ban on assault rifles or high capacity magazines. No criminal is going to obey to the laws or turn a gun in if asked. I do agree that stricter back-round checks should be done when buying a gun, and also the mentally handicap should have stricter laws. Sandy hook was an awful tragedy. I do not agree with how every one blames it on the guns. That is like saying it is the vehicles fault when a driver gets a dwi?

So in general i do not agree with the ban on assult weapons, ban on high capacity magazines, etc.

  4. Changing laws will not stop a tragedy like sandy hook from happening. If a criminal wants to commit a crime they will do it. For example the bombing in Boston there were no assault rifles used just 2 bombs and it killed 3 and wounded many, or even the stabbing that happened a couple weeks ago. Making stricter laws are only helping the criminals. They are called criminals for a reason they do not follow laws. My opinion on assault weapons is this; an assault weapon could be anything such as a pen can be called an assault weapon. A hammer that is bought at home depot has killed more people than an assault rifle. Malpractice has killed 12x more people than an assault weapon. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. We need to focus on mental health issues not gun control. People have a misunderstanding on assault rifles they think since it looks like a military issued rifle that the public should not own one. The guns sold to the public are very different from the ones issued to the military.

I am a gun owner myself and do believe in stricter background checks and the mentally handicapped should have stricter laws. Having a ban on assault rifles is not going to stop the amount of gun violence; gun violence will always be here. Lowering the amount of rounds allowed in a magazine is not going to help either; a criminal will just carry more than 10 rounds in a magazine or multiple 10 round magazines.

Lastly another thing that does not help the situation is the news they always dwell on the bad and never show any good.
